The downward spiral that is the 2013-14 Los Angeles Lakers (16-30) continued on Tuesday night as they dropped their fifth game in a row to the best team in basketball, the Indiana Pacers (35-9).

David West led Indiana with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Roy Hibbert (11 points and 10 rebounds) and Lance Stephenson (15 points and career-high 14 rebounds) each chipped in a double-double.

Points in the paint was the real difference in this game. The Pacers had their way down low, outscoring the Lakers 58-44 and outrebounding them 63-50 on the glass.

Paul George struggled with his shot throughout the game, hitting just four of his 21 attempts. He still managed to finish with a solid line of 14 points, six assists and five rebounds.

The free-throw shooting of the Pacers was simply abysmal. leaving 12 points (15-of-27) at the charity stripe.

Six players scored in double-figures for the Lakers, who were led by yet another double-double (21 points and 13 rebounds) by center Pau Gasol. Kendall Marshall was precise with his passing, dishing out 13 assists to just one turnover.

This was the 13th-straight game where Los Angeles has given up over 100 points to their opponent. This was also their 17th loss in their last 20 games.
