Andrew Bynum: Is He Helping or Hindering Los Angeles?

With the series tied and the NBA Championship on the line, there is no question that the Lakers need Andrew Bynum's presence on the court. The question is, will they get it?

A healthy Andrew Bynum is necessary to help the Lakers secure the title against the Boston Celtics. Bynum has spent almost as much time on the injured list as he has playing basketball.

Is the Lakers' management actually hindering its team by keeping Bynum? Would they be better off trying to secure a center who spends less time on the injured list?

The line up of Bryant, Gasol, Artest, and Fisher is obviously one of great talent. Lamar Odom is a great sixth man and Shannon Brown and Jordan Farmar are also sufficient off the bench.

Los Angeles should seriously look hard at replacing Bynum in the near future. Bynum never seems to stay healthy long enough to help the Lakers when they need him the most.

Andrew is a young skilled player and will receive offers from other teams. What L.A. needs, is a center who can take his place on the court to add a few points, pull much needed boards and do it for all (or at least most) of the season.

Seriously, consider what a Carlos Boozer or Amare Stoudemire (who are both free agents as of now), could do for Los Angeles and the Lakers!
