Los Angeles Kings Once Again Say No To Ilya Kovalchuk

Here is the latest on the never-ending drama that one player names Ilya Kovalchuk has caused.

As you all know, Kovalchuk was close to signing with the Devils a few days ago but then there was a hold-up. SKA of the KHL heard that and jumped right in, and it was believed he was going to sign there. But then SKA signed Evgeni Nabokov and, according to multiple writers, in the KHL you can only sign one NHL player per team, which pulls them out of the running for Kovalchuk.

Then the Kings hear this and jump back in with their offer. Kovalchuk sees the offer and declines. According to Helene Elliott of the LA Times , Kings GM Dean Lombardi has closed the door and locked it on Kovalchuk.

After all of this, Kovalchuk's only serious suitor is the New Jersey Devils, who would pay him around $8 mil a year on a mid- to long-term contract.

This concludes the latest Kovalchuk drama, enjoy!
