Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings Beat Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins

The Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins faced off last night at Staples Center.

The Kings' play has been steadily improving over the past few games, culminating in a magnificent showing for the full 60 minutes.

LA had energy, speed, physicality, strong defense, superb goaltending from Jonathan Quick and just enough offense.

Overall, the game was fairly even: Both had good pacing, both played well at both ends, both were dealt four penalties for 11 penalty minutes and both goalies faced 34 shots.

But the Kings had the edge where it counts the most—on the scoreboard and in the net, depending on how you look at things.

Jonathan Quick and the Los Angeles Kings faced a tough challenge in the leading Vezina candidate and a team that is third in its conference, and they certainly lived up to the task.
