NFL Odds: Raiders Four Point Favorites Hosting The Rams

The Oakland Raiders host the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, September 19 2010. Game time is 4:05 PM ET.  This is sure to be an entertaining matchup for Week 2 of the season, and the NFL odds show the Raiders -4 over the Rams with a total set of 37.5 points.

The Raiders cannot be feeling good about its disappointing 38-13 season-opening loss to the Tennessee Titans. With a new face at quarterback and a revamped defense, this was supposed to be a better year right? Wrong.

After jumping out to an early three-point lead, it all came undone as the Titans answered back with 24 straight points to take command of the game.

Oakland’s O-line crumbled allowing new Raiders’ quarterback Jason Campbell to be sacked four times, while completing just 22 passes for 180 yards with a touchdown and an interception, but he fumbled twice, losing one of them in his Oakland debut. The Titans’ defense reigned supreme turning two of those turnovers into 10 points.

The Raiders just looked careless on both sides of the ball, especially offensively registering just 106 yards of total offense by halftime.

The lone bright spot of the offense was RB Darren McFadden who carried the full load as a thumb injury kept partner in crime Michael Bush on the sideline. McFadden gained 95 yards on 18 carries and caught six passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.

That workload may become a much more arduous task as the Raiders will face a Rams’ defense that despite a few breakdowns, turned in a solid performance in their loss to the Cardinals.

The defense forced seven Cardinal fumbles, recovering four of them while sacking quarterback Derek Anderson twice.

Offensively St. Louis Rams played hard, but a few miscues would be the difference between winning and losing.
