Tim Brown is remembering that game 10 years later and adding a new twist to the 48-21 defeat that the Raiders took that day.
Tim Brown has accused then-head coach Bill Callahan of "sabotaging" the Raiders chances to win the game by changing the game plan two days before the game.
Since making the claims against Callahan, many former teammates have come out either siding with or siding against Tim Brown. One might argue, such as Bill Romanowski in the link above, that Brown has gone off the deep end.
In Brown's corner is Jerry Rice, who has been the strongest supporter of Brown's claim. Rice said that he felt Callahan never liked him (Rice) since he arrived to the team.
Having a guy like Rice in Brown's corner brings Brown away from looking like he is having a Barret Robbins-type meltdown.
Speaking of Robbins, Brown also put some of the blame on Callahan for Robbin's infamous meltdown that led him to Tijuana, Mexico, after a night of substance abuse, causing him to miss the Super Bowl. Brown blames Callahan because Robbins "begged" Callahan to not change the game plan just two days before the game.
Rich Gannon, who was the NFL MVP that year, came out against Brown, saying that Callahan is a "good man" and also a "good football coach."
Whether or not it is true that Callahan sabotaged the game, which he denies, there is a consensus among the Raiders from that team that the game plan was changed two days before the game.
