The Oakland Raiders Have Texas Players Making Big Contributions in 2011

Texas football is represented very well on the Oakland Raiders team. Approximately 9.2 percent of the roster is composed of players from Texas colleges and universities.

The list includes senior players such as Johnnie Lee Higgins, from the University of Texas, El Paso. Another five-year veteran is Thomas Howard, a linebacker, who is also from UTEP.

Michael Huff has five years of experience with the Raiders as a DB. He played for University of Texas, in Austin. Lamarr Houston played for the Longhorns as well.

For 11 years, Shane Lechler has been a Raider, and he attended Texas A & M University. He has been with the Raiders longer than the other players on the squad from Texas.

After only one year with the Raiders, Daniel Loper should be ready to show off his talents in 2011. He played for Texas Tech University and he is an offensive tackle.

Stanford Routt is from the University of Houston, and he has been on the roster for six years.

The positions that the guys from Texas hold on the team are varied.

Let's hope these tough, talented Texas players add what we need in 2011 to make it to the playoffs and beyond

Go Raiders! Add that "Don't mess with Texas" spirit to the team in 2011!
