Through two preseason games, Pryor has completed 10 of 18 passes for 59 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also carried the ball seven times for 22 yards. Considering he has been up against third-team defenses, those numbers are atrocious.
While he's shown decent speed when escaping the pocket, he's been awful when actually throwing the ball. He is indecisive and inaccurate and hasn't shown even average velocity on his throws. All-in-all it has been an incredibly disappointing showing for Pryor so far.
At 6'6" and 233 pounds, Pryor has great size and can really move for being that big. His frame and lack of arm strength make it obvious that he should move to tight end. It would be a perfect position for him to put the talents he does have on display. He's simply not equipped to be a quarterback at this level.
I appreciate Pryor's confidence in his abilities as a signal-caller. He desperately wants to make it as a quarterback in the pros. But, frankly, it's not going to happen.
If the Oakland Raiders want to get a return on the third-round supplemental draft pick they spent on him, they need to convince him to switch positions. If he had even above-average hands, Pryor has the raw ability to turn into a heck of a tight end.
As it stands now he's nothing more than a developmental quarterback who won't see any time on the field as he's stuck behind Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. That's simply a waste of his physical gifts.
