Rashad Jennings Injury: Updates on Raiders RB’s Concussion, Likely Return Date

The Oakland Raiders fell to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday afternoon, but perhaps the even more concerning news was the injury to Rashad Jennings, who left the game with a concussion.

Jennings was running the ball in the fourth quarter when he was inadvertently kneed in the head as he was being tackled. After being down on the field for quite some time, he got up and appeared very wobbly. Vic Tafur from the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Jennings sustained a concussion in the game.

Rashad Jennings sustained a concussion. RB looked foggy in locker room

Bleacher Report's own Dr. Dave Siebert gave us his impression of the injury, as he felt quite certain the injury was a concussion.

Looked like #Raiders Rashad Jennings was kneed in head. Might have been out momentarily. Definite concussion. Best wishes to his recovery.

— Dr. Dave Siebert (@DaveMSiebert) November 29, 2013 With Darren McFadden dealing with injuries of his own, Jennings had been having a fantastic season. He had run for 553 yards and two touchdowns entering Thursday, making him one of the most productive backup running backs in the NFL behind Darren McFadden.

While their playoff chances may be incredibly small, the Raiders were hoping to win more games before the end of the season and finish strong, but that will be a lot harder if Jennings is forced to miss any time.
