Oakland Raiders vs. Seattle Seahawks Live Blog: Play-by-Play Analysis, Reaction

On Thursday night, the Oakland Raiders will take on the Seattle Seahawks in each team’s final preseason game of the season.

Like all preseason games, the end result will be meaningless; we don’t care about the final score. What we do care about, however, is everything that happens between the initial kickoff and the final snap.

For a team like the Raiders that have been mired for so many years in irrelevance and incompetence, this final game has much bigger implications than usual. This may be the final audition for the starting quarterback role for the Silver and Black.

Matt Flynn—traded, coincidentally, from the Seahawks during the offseason—came in with the expectations of starting in Oakland. Terrelle Pryor figured to compete for the backup job. At this stage in the competition, Pryor has impressed more than Flynn.

With Flynn reportedly suffering from some arm soreness, Pryor took all of the first-team snaps this week and is expected to start, according to Chris Burke of SI.com.

Pryor’s play tonight may swing the tide one way or the other and finally settle the quarterback conundrum in Oakland.
