Oakland Raiders: Bruce Gradkowski To Start for Raider Nation in Week 12

After suffering an injury in Week 5 during a 35-27 win over the San Diego Chargers, Raiders' quarterback Bruce Gradkowski is ready to return home against the Miami Dolphins in Week 12, sources have told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Gradkowski made an appearance in Week 11, but struggled just as Jason Campbell did.

This move can either give the Raiders a spark or hurt them. Jason Campbell has played very well other than his performance in Week 11 at Pittsburgh. Granted, when the Raiders have need a spark, Gradkowski is their man. Gradkowski seems to light a fire in the Raider offense and they definitely need it after only scoring three points against the Steelers.

Gradkowski has started four games this season for the Raiders, throwing four touchdowns and four interceptions in those four starts.

Coach Tom Cable is sticking to his guns as he stated earlier in the season that when Gradkowski is healthy, he will be the starter. New questions arises with this move. If Gradkowski plays poorly, will he be pulled for Campbell? Or will Campbell be the starter in Week 13 if Gradkowski does not play well.

In recent weeks, Campbell was a low end fantasy option at quarterback and Gradkowski is not recommended for Week 12. The Dolphins are giving up just over 196 passing yards per game, fourth in the league. The Dolphins' secondary has also only allowed 13 touchdown passes this season.

However, the Dolphins are 20th against the run, giving 112 yards per game. This can be a key factor for Gradkowski in Week 12 because if running back Darren McFadden can get back on track, it should open up some passing lanes for Gradkowski.
