Oakland Raiders 2012 Expectations: Raider Nation Needs a Reality Check

Raider Nation, our hopes were high when the Oakland Raiders started the 2012 season.

New general manager Reggie McKenzie had been brought on as the team’s first-ever general manager. First-year coach Dennis Allen was hired as Oakland’s first defensive-minded head coach since the legendary John Madden. He brought on offensive coordinator Greg Knapp to help bring the Oakland offense into the 21st century.

2012, according to many in Raider Nation, was the year the Raiders turn things around.

Now that we’re almost 13 weeks into the season and the Raiders record is currently 3-8, Raider Nation is starting to panic. Here are some comments from my last article post:

Fire the whole coaching staff and bring back Gruden or Hue Jackson.

We are stuck with Mark Davis. And until he realizes how much Al's wisdom over the years are invaluable and sucks up his pride and at least tries to rebuild the legacy of the attitude of a Raider, we will continue to look like the early 70s version of the New Orleans Saints with Archie Manning.

First things first, get rid of Reggie McKenzie, who is not Wolf by any means. Send the whole coaching staff and the players they brought along for the ride to the waiver list. Get the players a real coach. Get an offensive line that can block, period. If you had to run behind the O-line for the last five years, you would be hurt too.

It starts with having the guts to tell Reggie that this is not it!
