Oakland Raider Defense Crushes SD Losing Streak With 35-27 Victory at Home

The Oakland Raiders played a defensive game against their nemesis, the San Diego Chargers and ended a thirteen game losing streak!! The Raider defense once again showed that they are solid. San Diego RB Matthew Ryan and RB Tolbert were literally stopped in their tracks.

During the first quarter of play the Oakland Raider defense blocked two kicks, got a safety and a TD to lead the Chargers 12-0.There was also the fumble near the SD end-zone after a Phillip Rivers drive.

Although Phillip Rivers threw for over 300 yards, the Raiders defense created turnovers and the Raiders were rewarded with points.

Michael Bush was a huge factor gaining over 100 yds and pounding away at the SD Chargers defensive line. WR Zach Miller was outstanding and caught a TD pass from Jason Campbell.

One weakness in play was the coverage of CB Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson continually bit on the route beneath and left WR Malcom Floyd open for over 100 yds and a TD.

Campbell might QB for the Raiders in next week's game versus the San Francisco 49ers. The running strengths of Michael Bush should open passing lanes for Jason Campbell; expect Darrius Heyward Bey to have a strong game. However, if Gradkowski returns then I would say a definite win with TD passes to Louis Murphy and DHB. Cross your fingers.
