Denarius Moore’s Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 5 Performance vs. Chargers

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore firmly placed himself in the No. 2 fantasy receiver category on Sunday Night Football, as he repeatedly torched the San Diego Chargers for big yardage.

As nothing more than a boom-or-bust prospect in the fake football realm, Moore has mostly been worthy of avoiding to this point because of his quarterback play, not because he lacked anything in the talent department.

Against San Diego, quarterback Terrelle Pryor had a breakout party of his own, throwing for a career-high two touchdowns and 221 yards.

This translated to major production for Moore, who brought in five receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown, giving him a 16.8 average.

More importantly, Moore was targeted a team-high eight times, whereas the next highest was three, showing Pryor trusts Moore as his favorite receiver.

Moore recorded just over 700 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago, but is on pace to shatter those numbers now that he four touchdowns and almost over 300 yards to his name in five games.

Unfortunately Moore will not get to compete against the Chargers each week. San Diego ranks near the bottom of the barrel in terms of pass defense and allows over 312 yards per game through the air, so Moore's performance was expected by savvy fantasy owners.

Now paired with quality quarterback play, Moore is a legit fantasy No. 2 starter in any matchup and will be a hot commodity on the trade market. Owners not willing to gamble on Pryor at quarterback would be wise to unload Moore now with his stock high.

For everyone else, Moore is capable of No. 2 production provide the right matchup with Pryor under center.

Owners should act accordingly.
