Snoop Lion Says Jeanie Buss Should Be in Charge of Lakers at Playboy Event

Rapper-turned-reggae-star Snoop Lion might have found a hit with his single "No Guns Allowed," but he just delivered the latest shot in the Los Angeles Lakers' power struggle.

Speaking at a Playboy event, he told Los Angeles Daily News scribe Mark Medina that the Lakers should let another one of the late Dr. Jerry Buss' children take over the team:

Snoop Dogg is at a Playboy event and made one thing clear about the Lakers: "Put Jeanie in charge and we'll be all right."

— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) July 16, 2013 Since their father's passing, Jim and Jeanie Buss have shared the Lakers' executive decisions with their other siblings. Jim's been tasked with overseeing the basketball side of the operation, while Jeanie has been part in charge of the business decisions.

This isn't the first time that Jim's basketball leadership has come into question.

Magic Johnson, a Hall of Famer who spent all 13 seasons of his playing career with the Lakers and now works as an NBA analyst for ESPN and ABC, gave a scathing review of L.A.'s executive vice president early last season.

Per Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles, he said that Jim Buss had made two crucial missteps with regard to his coaching hires:

He's made two critical mistakes already. ... First, hiring Mike Brown -- he wasn't the right coach. He's a great coach but not the right coach for the Lakers. And I don't feel Mike D'Antoni is the right coach for the Lakers. Especially when you have Phil Jackson sitting out there, who wanted to be the Laker coach.

Johnson's opinion probably carries more weight in basketball circles, but as ESPN's Chris Palmer pointed out, when Snoop Lion is in the house, it's hard not to take notice:

Snoop Dogg in the house at the Playboy Mansion. Just got real.
