NBA Rumors: Kyle Lowry the Missing Link That Brings Deron Williams to the Lakers

According to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen, Kyle Lowry recently stated his time with the Houston Rockets may end due to issues with coach Kevin McHale.

Lakers fans should be familiar with the name Kyle Lowry, as the Houston Chronicle's Jerome Solomon reported the team offered Pau Gasol to the Rockets last season in exchange Lowry and Luis Scola.

With Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick reporting that Deron Williams has interest in joining the Lakers, and assuming the Rockets are still interested in acquiring Gasol, Lowry's recent tantrum may have created the perfect storm that brings Williams to the City of Angels.

I propose the following three-team trade:

Lakers Trade: Pau Gasol (and Steve Blake unless they feel they need him in an Orlando trade)

Lakers Receive: Deron Williams

Nets Trade: Deron Williams (sign-and-trade)

Nets Receive: Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, Patrick Patterson and the No. 16 Pick

Rockets Trade: Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, Patrick Patterson and the No. 16 Pick

Rockets Receive: Pau Gasol (and possibly Steve Blake)

The above is a trade that the Lakers, Rockets and Magic brass should seriously consider. Don't worry, Mitch Kupchak, I won't require a consultancy fee this time.

Now, for all you Lakers fans out there who are wondering who in the world would man the starting power forward position for your team next season if Pau is traded: Have no fear, for the options are almost endless!

I personally would follow up the above trade with a second trade of Andrew Bynum, Steve Blake, Josh McRoberts and Christian Eyenga to the Magic for Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu.

While I believe Mitch Kupchak would do the same (unless, of course, he can pry Howard away without having to take on Turkoglu's horrendous contract), even if the Lakers stick with enigmatic Andrew Bynum, they can easily find a solid front...
