Magic Johnson: 2013-14 Will Be ‘One of the Roughest Seasons’ in Lakers History

Magic Johnson might still be reeling from watching his Los Angeles Dodgers bow out in the NLCS, but he found time to sound off today on another L.A. team with which he has a bit of history.

---UPDATE: Wednesday, 6:55 p.m. ET by Joe Flynn---

A mere 24 hours—an one spectacular upset of the crosstown Clippers—later, it would appear that Magic has plopped himself firmly on the Lakers' bandwagon.

Laker Nation: I'm very happy, the @Lakers played exceptionally well against the crosstown rival Clippers!

— Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) October 30, 2013

Laker Nation: This @Lakers team is better suited for Coach D'Antoni's offensive system.

Laker Nation: This @Lakers team with @kobebryant could have a good season!

Real Lakers never say die! Or, they do, but then quickly take it back.

---End of update---

Johnson voiced his opinion on ESPN 710 radio station in Los Angeles on Tuesday, as recounted by Ramona Shelburne, and he is not exactly feeling bullish on the Lakers' chances this season.

Magic on @ESPNLA710 "This is going to be one of the roughest seasons that the Lakers have ever faced."

— Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) October 29, 2013 Roughest season the Lakers have ever faced? Does that mean they'll only finish five games over .500?

Magic also has concerns about how the fans in L.A. will handle the season.

Magic Johnson on @ESPNLA710 "Laker fans are spoiled. I don’t know how they’re going to react now. This is going to be a tough season."
