Lakers News: Dwight Howard Makes GQ’s Least Influential List

You can add the editors at GQ to the long-running list of people who have issues with Los Angeles Lakers' center Dwight Howard.

According to the Jackson Sun, Howard finds himself in the same company as NFL bounty developer Gregg Williams and cheating cyclist Lance Armstrong as a member of GQ's "The Least Influential People of 2012."

Hoops World's Alex Kennedy shares with us a memorable quote from the GQ piece, tweeting:

GQ put Dwight Howard on Least Influential List: "In a just world, he'll hurt his knee and doctors will take 17 months to make a diagnosis."

— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) November 28, 2012 Howard put every NBA GM, VP, coach, player, fan, floor sweeper and parking lot attendant through the ringer in 2012 by demanding a trade out of Orlando. And then saying he wanted to stay. And then requesting a trade to Brooklyn. And then signing an extension with the Magic. And then getting his coach fired. And then meeting Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash in a neutral location to create (over margaritas) a diabolical plan to run the Western Conference.

Alright, so maybe I went a little far with that last one, but everything I said up until that point was true.

You can't blame GQ for bashing Howard, as his long—and mainly annoying—saga with the Magic often trumped more important headlines in the sports world. 



Even when Howard was finally shipped away from Orlando and asked never, ever, ever to return again, he wouldn't commit to a long-term deal with his new squad, which still has to irk Lakers fans.

Jim Buss & Co. rolled out the red carpet for Dwight only for him to slap the organization in the face and say "we'll see" to a contract extension.
