Laker Nation Trolls Dwight Howard Soundly During Laker Win

Dwight Howard downplayed the significance of Thursday night's matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers continually in the run-up to his first bout with the Purple and Gold since bolting from Hollywood. 



However, Laker Nation didn't see it as just another game, and they voiced their pleasure with the one-time Laker's struggles in the Houston Rockets' 99-98 loss.

Here's a look at some of the reaction from a select few of the many who chimed in on Twitter before, during and after the Lakers' dramatic win. 

It started early with Dwight dancing in the Rockets' pregame huddle:



As for those who feel Dwight didn't commit himself to the Lakers last season? They've got to be feeling pretty good about the outcome of Thursday night's contest, as his effort was consistent with what Lakers fans saw night-in and night-out during the 2012-13 campaign:

Kobe Bryant was in a facetious mood pregame when asked about his current relationship with Howard: 



The Inside the NBA crew didn't seem particularly pleased with Dwight's effort, either. He finished with 15 points and 14 boards, but was far from assertive in the post. Post-ups were a rare sight:



He also managed to post a triple-double. Just not in the way you would expect:

The sweetest missed free throws, though, came after an inbounds pass fell into Howard's lap with under a minute to go and Pau Gasol was free to hack away:
