Kobe Bryant Thanks Clippers for Humiliating Beatdown

“Kobe, your team just suffered its worst defeat in franchise history! What are you gonna do??”

“We’re going to Disneyland!”

No. This is not how Kobe Bryant operates.

The Black Mamba doesn’t seek escape after victory. Like any other champion, humiliating defeat is the coal to his steam engine. He doesn’t let defeat consume him—he consumes it.

That said, Bryant has a generous helping of defeat to tamp down his gullet after he sat by and watched the Los Angeles Clippers dismantle the Los Angeles Lakers 142-94 on their shared home court Thursday night.

It was the worst defeat in franchise history for the Lakers—a distinction Bryant hates to have under his belt. However, instead of wallowing in despair or throwing shade at his opponents, the Lakers veteran superstar congratulated the Clippers.

Bryant took to Twitter and thanked Chris Paul and company for the historic shelling they laid upon the Lakers. The tweet was spotted by Blake Murphy of TheScore.com.

Bryant’s teammates couldn’t seem to find a reason for the magnitude of the loss. They just knew that it made them feel awful.

“It’s embarrassing,” Robert Sacre said, via Rahshaun Haylock of Fox Sports. “No one wants to lose like that. It’s stupid to feel like that team can beat us like that.”

Hopefully the squad will see this as a much-needed wake-up call, although at this point in the season, all but a token turnaround seems impossible.

The only silver lining here is the venom building in the Black Mamba. He certainly hasn’t checked out, and he views his time on the bench as anything but a vacation.
