Kobe Bryant Can Barely Watch Clippers Beat Down His Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, in embarrassing fashion on Friday night. The 123-87 defeat was the biggest loss suffered by the Lakers in the history of this rivalry, according to MyDesert Sports.

Even without point guard Chris Paul, the Clippers turned the game into a rout from the opening tip, scoring 43 points in the first quarter and never looking back.

Nobody affiliated with the purple and gold could escape the pain of this beat-down—not the fans, not the players and certainly not Kobe Bryant.

Unfortunately for Kobe, their were plenty of cameramen present to catch his pained reactions on the Lakers' bench.

The 2013-14 season has been the most frustrating campaign of Bryant's Hall-of-Fame career. The 35-year-old guard worked diligently to recover from a torn Achilles suffered last April. He made his return on Dec. 8, but suffered a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee just nine days later against the Memphis Grizzlies. At the time, Bryant was expected to miss six weeks.

Since the latest setback, Bryant has tried to show his courageous, competitive side to the public. After hearing news of the injury, he tweeted "#BrokenNotBeaten" on his official twitter account.

But his Lakers are in a tailspin, having lost 10 of their last 11 games. It cannot be easy for such a legendary competitor to sit idly by on the bench while his team is annihilated by the squad formerly known as L.A.'s "other" team.
