Heidi Watney Leaves NESN to Brighten Los Angeles Lakers from Sidelines

The northeast got a whole lot less attractive this week. Reports are surfacing that Heidi Watney is leaving NESN for a dream job with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The life of a sports reporter is not an easy one. A lot of times you are forced to take your talents on the road, never knowing if you are going to come back home to work.

Things are coming full circle for Heidi Watney, who is moving back to Southern California as she switches gears to cover the Los Angeles Lakers.

Sean McAdam of Comcast SportsNet reports Watney would indeed be leaving her post as sideline reporter of NESN, bringing sadness to her flocks of followers and avid admirers.

NESN's loss is Time Warner Cable's gain. The host of The Red Sox Report and sideline reporter for the team will now move to the land hoops as she covers the purple and gold in LaLa Land.

Time Warner Cable no doubt threw a bunch of money at Watney as the behemoth company threw $2.5 billion to lure the rights away from Fox Sports West and KCAL-TV.

Suffice to say, they have a boatload of cash and they will fill their programming with the best. Watney is a well-resspected reporter who started as a sports anchor for KMPH in Fresno.

She then landed a tremendous opportunity with NESN. Now, she returns to where it all started. She is a native Californian who attended the University of San Diego on an academic scholarship, graduating with honors in 2003.

She is beautiful, smart and hard-working. The best part for Lakers fans is that she is now theirs. She will begin her reporting for the team in the 2012-2013 season.

The would be a travesty for fans if the NBA lockout wasn't already moving dangerously close to destroying the entire season.

For now, Lakers fans who seem to have it all, will have to wait just a tad longer for the beauty that will brighten the sidelines.<...
