Handicapping L.A. Lakers Players’ Odds of Making the 2013 NBA All Star Game

Four Los Angeles Lakers players are on the 2013 NBA All-Star ballot, and it looks like three of the four have a pretty good shot at making the game.

All four Lakers (Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard and Metta World Peace) were included in the first official ballot release.

This is common for the Lakers and, most likely, three of the four players will be on the Western Conference All-Star team.

Looking at how other Western Conference big men are playing, Gasol doesn't seem to have a fantastic shot at making the team.

His main competition includes LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant, Marc Gasol, Rudy Gay, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, Serge Ibaka, David Lee, Kevin Love and Zach Randolph.

At this point, it wouldn't be far fetched to say that Pau is playing worse than each one of these players.

Throw in that he would have to fight for a reserve spot and it's tough to imagin...
