Dwight Howard’s Game 4 Ejection Sums Up Season with Los Angeles Lakers

The circus that is the Los Angeles Lakers continued its act on Sunday night after Dwight Howard was ejected from Game 4 of the Lakers' first-round playoff matchup with the San Antonio Spurs.

After being assessed a technical foul at the end of the first quarter for elbowing Cory Joseph, Howard picked up a second T in the third quarter for arguing with a referee (via Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles). As you all know, two technicals in an NBA game results in immediate ejection.

This very well could be Howard's last game in a Lakers uniform, and it certainly didn't go as planned. Howard exited the game with just seven points, eight rebounds and five turnovers as Los Angeles trailed 55-34.

As if getting blown out 103-82 in Game 4 and being swept in the first round of the NBA playoffs in your first season with the franchise wasn't enough, things got worse for Howard as he was heading to the locker room.



Arguing with the general manager of the team? Nice touch, Dwight.

Howard's ejection essentially sums up his tumultuous first season as a Laker, and according to Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears, he doesn't necessarily disagree.



Howard's comment certainly brings new meaning to the word "Dwightmare."

From free-throw issues to feuding with Kobe Bryant, Howard's 2012-13 campaign with the Lakers has been a complete bust.

Averaging a double-double, Howard was certainly productive during his time with the Lakers, but his injury issues and lack of cohesion with Bryant and the rest of the Lakers' lineup highlight what turned out to be a failed season for Los Angeles.
