Dwight Howard Trade Report: Rockets, Magic and Lakers Talk Three-Team Deal

According to Eric Pincus of Hoopsworld.com, the Lakers, Rockets and Magic have begun discussions that would potentially end the Dwight Howard impasse once and for all.

Presumably, the sudden involvement of Houston and the Lakers comes as a result of Orlando's inability and/or reluctance to pull the trigger on a trade that would send Howard to Brooklyn.

Not to mention hesitation on the part of the Clippers, Cavaliers and Bobcats to act as an ancillary trade partner that has not facilitated matters.

Pincus, who is an acclaimed journalist with impeccable sources, is the first to hint at what, in actuality, would be a sufficient compromise to the "Dwightmare."

Primarily due to Orlando's reticence to commit to either Andrew Bynum or Brook Lopez—driven by the aim to clear cap space and accrue picks for the future—Houston's role in such a proposed trade becomes a significant one.

The Rockets have the young talent and a bevy of first-round picks they can give to Orlando.

In turn, Houston would receive its coveted big man in the 24-year-old Bynum, who has intimately expressed he wouldn't mind following in Hakeem Olajuwon's footsteps for the long haul.

Lastly, the Lakers would take a chance on Howard who has incentives—including, but not limited to, Adidas—to ultimately re-sign with L.A. in the summer of 2013.
