Kings Interested in Russell Thursday, June 23 The Sacramento Kings have attempted to trade for Russell, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, who added the team has been "heavily engaged" in trade talks.

Lakers Reportedly May Shop Russell for Top-5 Pick Saturday, June 18 According to ESPN's Chad Ford (h/t James Herbert of CBSSports.com), L.A. may be willing to move the former Ohio State standout in exchange for a top-five selection.

Ford said on SportsCenter: "I think more likely the Lakers are trying to pick up another pick in this draft in the top five and the guy that they have that they can shop is [Russell], a guy who was their No. 2 pick in the draft last year but burned some bridges in the locker room."

Despite Russell's promise, his future in Los Angeles remains uncertain because of an incident last season involving in a video he took of teammate Nick Young apparently admitting to infidelity, which leaked on the internet.

The Lakers will likely select Duke's Brandon Ingram with the No. 2 overall selection, and if they trade Russell for another top-five pick, there are several intriguing options, such as Dragan Bender, Jaylen Brown, Jamal Murray and Buddy Hield.

Russell is part of a talented, young core that includes guard Jordan Clarkson—should the Lakers retain the restricted free agent—and forward Julius Randle.

Ability has never been a question with Russell, but whether his teammates can trust and respect him may be a different story.
