D’Angelo Russell Injury: Updates on Lakers Guard’s Knee and Return

Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell missed one game after battling the effects of left knee soreness. However, he is ready to return.

Russell Active vs. Bulls Sunday, Nov. 20 The Lakers cleared Russell, and he will be available on Sunday against Chicago, according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News. 

Russell Trending Upward for Upstart Lakers Russell had an inconsistent debut season, though his performance improved when he re-entered the starting lineup.



The No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 draft saw his scoring average increase in each of the last two months, and his three-point percentage remained above 34.0 in January, February and March, per Basketball-Reference.com.

That was a huge step forward for Russell, who's going to be a key player in the Lakers' rebuilding effort. His ability to shoot from beyond the arc and facilitate should make the team better. In 12 games so far this season, Russell is averaging 16.8 points and 4.7 assists while shooting 42.3 percent from the field and 39 percent from three.
