Brandon Bass Injury: Updates on Lakers Forward’s Ankle and Return

Los Angeles Lakers forward Brandon Bass had been out since he injured his foot against the New Orleans Pelicans on Jan. 12. However, he is ready to return.

Continue for updates.

Bass Active vs. Rockets Sunday, Jan. 17 The Lakers announced Bass will likely be available to play Sunday against the Houston Rockets.

How Bass' Injury Impacted Lakers  Bass is in his first year with the Lakers after playing for four other teams in his first 10 seasons in the NBA.

Bass joined a young, rebuilding Lakers team this season led by none other than his first head coach in New Orleans, Byron Scott.

Earlier this season, Scott talked about Bass' development from inexperienced rookie to NBA veteran, per Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News: "You know what you’ll get when you put him in the game. He’s not backing down to people. He’s one of those tough kids that will bring it every single night."

He brings it every night, even if that means coming off the bench. Over his last three years in Boston, he only missed one game, and he brought that toughness to a Lakers team that is full of youth.

Expect Bass, who scored at least 10 points per game in three of four years with the Celtics, to show that same toughness now that he's back on the court.
