2011 NBA Draft Results: Darius Morris Goes No. 41 to Los Angeles Lakers

Darius Morris is perhaps the best true point guard in this year’s draft.

He flat-out cannot shoot a consistent jump shot, but is passing skills are virtually unmatched. If you’d told someone that last year, they would have looked at you like you were crazy though. His passing skills dramatically improved going into his sophomore season as a Michigan Wolverine.

This past year, Morris averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game and he could put up similar numbers in the NBA.

His potential is very high, especially because he is quite tall for a point guard, standing at 6’4” in sneakers. If he develops that jump shot, he’ll be very dangerous as a professional.

I absolutely love the fact that he's going to Los Angeles. He'll be Derek Fisher's backup for a while and learn from the veteran before taking over the job of feeding Kobe Bryant the ball.
