Ryane Clowe Video: San Jose Shark Winger Disrupts Odd-Man Rush from Bench

The San Jose Sharks defeated the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday in a 6-5 shootout victory, but the game could have turned out differently had Ryane Clowe not interfered on a play from the bench.

With the Pacific title on the line, it appeared the Kings had a chance to take the lead on an odd-man rush.

While Jarret Stoll of the LA Kings was leading a 3-on-2 rush up the ice, he got near the Sharks bench, and the puck was magically knocked away. Now, either the Sharks defender from behind had an extremely long stick on the back check, or there were some real hijinks at play.

Looking at both videos gives a clear visual of what occurred.

While on the bench, Clowe clearly broke up the play illegally, but it went undetected due to the positioning of the linesman and referees. What makes the situation worse is how Clowe reacted after the game. There is clear video evidence of his wrong doing but he denied it.

Here are some quotes.

Ryane Clowe:

Clowe only says "I don't know what you're talking about" when asked about playing puck from the bench. #SJSharks

Kings governor Tim Leiweke:

Kings governor Tim Leiweke, on Clowe: ``It's a shame that a guy can cheat and get away with it in a game this important.''

And more tweets on the situation.

Says Darryl Sutter: “What do you think my thoughts are?You can’t call too many men on the ice. What do you call it-too many sticks?”

Says #sjshark Clowe:“I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I’ll have to see the video or something. Someone show me the video.”
