Los Angeles Kings Need Aggression, Consistency to Break Out of Slump

The Los Angeles Kings have won just two games this year, dropping them to 12th place in Western Conference standings.

A late December win over the San Jose Sharks had put the Kings fourth in the Western Conference.

So far, L.A. has been experiencing the very epitome of a roller-coaster season, enjoying significant periods of winning, marred by alternating losing stretches.

The Kings have the talent to be one of the National Hockey League’s elite teams. A team with players like Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar, Jack Johnson, Drew Doughty and Jonathan Quick, for instance, ought to easily be in the running for Lord Stanley’s Cup.

At times this season, they have shown just how good they can be. Lately, though, they have been playing themselves almost out of contention.

During the team’s current slump, it has been easy to see their on-ice problems.
