L.A. Kings: Playoff Bound 2012

The L.A. Kings are playoff bound!

The Kings are only a few points from being in the playoffs, and they are bringing their pieces together at the right time for a playoff run.

The Kings decided to acquire more scoring at the trade deadline by snagging Jeff Carter from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The L.A. Kings have the third fewest goals against per game of any NHL team, so they only need to have an average amount of goal scoring to get wins. Since the trade deadline, the Kings have had an increase in goal scoring from all members of the team.

The additions at the deadline have added depth and balance to the forward lines on the Kings. The Kings have had the goaltending and the defense that a playoff team needs to be successful. The changes now give them the offensive talent that they need for the playoffs.

The team will have the scoring down the stretch when it is needed. When Carter was added, the lines were shifted to fit another forward into the lineup. After several games together, the lines have been getting more familiar with each other and have been developing better chemistry.

The Kings have acquired all of the pieces they need to make the playoffs this season. It will only be a matter of time until the team is able adjust to the changes and develop the team chemistry needed to score goals.

The L.A. Kings will make the 2012 NHL playoffs. They have all of the talent and the pieces they need. While some teams above them in the standings are starting to struggle and have problems, the Kings are just finding their form. Once the Kings reach the playoffs, anything can happen—but Kings’ fans are confident their team will be there.
